The Cosmetic Lens

The Cosmetic Lens:

This is a recurring column dedicated to all things cosmetics. It was actually the main inspiration for this blog; I wanted to have this space where I could write about my interests, a lot of which are inspired by the beauty world. However, I also wanted to explore other topics and learn more about marketing and consumers as a whole, which is why this blog is called Consumer Choices. At the top of articles, there will be a part of the title called The Cosmetic Lens; this will be a way to signal topics included in this "column".

The Cosmetic Lens is a perspective through which I explore cosmetics beyond just surface-level trends. In these posts, I examine beauty products as cultural and emotional products that are deeply shaped by psychology, ritual, identity, and design. I hope to convey the idea that cosmetics do not simply function as tools of self expression, but also are carefully crafted consumer experiences that reflect human behavior and brand storytelling.
