About Me
About Me - Consumer Choices
My name is Naomi Tzoanos and I am sophomore studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a minor in Consumer Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs and one of the most interesting facts about me is that I am half Japanese and half Greek. Growing up in a multicultural and diverse household has been one of my greatest inspirations, shaping my beliefs and ultimately inspiring me to create this blog
Consumer Choices- began as a personal project, but at its core, it is an explanation of how humans interact with the world through products, culture, and creativity.
Because of my background, I have always been deeply interested in anthropology and human behavior, particularly how our cultures, values, and identities ultimately shape the choices we make as consumers and the ways these choices impact the environment. That curiosity originally displayed itself through an in interest in sustainability, cultural systems, and the social impacts of design. Over time, it has evolved into a broader fascination with consumer psychology, product storytelling, and the emotional relationships people form with brands and products.
In addition to my analytical approach, I am a deeply creative person. I have always loved to make things whether that be through art, hands-on projects, or even visual experimentation. Cosmetics, in particular, have become one of my favorite forms of creative expression. Makeup is not just a product to me; it is a ritual, a sensory experience, and a way to communicate identity, mood, and confidence without words.
This blog exists at the intersection of all those interests. Here, I aim to explore topics such as consumer behavior, marketing insights, product design, brand perception, and the psychology behind why certain products and companies resonate so strongly with us. I am especially interested in how beauty and wellness brands blend culture, science, and emotion to create meaningful consumer experiences.
This blog is a place where I hope to share all my thoughts, findings, and opinions about a variety of these topics. It is a place where I will cultivate my knowledge of consumers and their behaviors. I want this to be a place that represents how I see marketing not so much as a form of persuasion, but rather as a way to understand human behavior. By understanding humans, we can then translate that into thoughtful design, meaningful experiences, and products that resonate on a cultural and emotional level.
